Greenville, South Carolina

The BMC Racing Team heads into this weekend's USA Cycling professional road championships looking to defend one title and earn back the other.

Hincapie Seeks Fourth Title

Taylor Phinney hopes to defend his crown in Saturday's 33-kilometer time trial. "I'm up for the challenge," Phinney said. "My form is good coming off the Amgen Tour of California. When it comes down to a one-day time trial, I can always pull a little extra something out." In Monday's 185 km road race, Phinney will be part of a five-man team that includes three-time U.S. national road champion George Hincapie, who is racing in his hometown of Greenville, S.C. Hincapie won titles in 1998, 2006 and 2009. Said BMC Racing Team Assistant Director Michael Sayers: "Any of our riders can win the race, so everyone will be free to try and go for the win."
