First World Series Podium for François Bailly-Maître in La Thuile

13. July 2014

La Thuile (Italy)

François Bailly-Maître fought until the very last stage for his first podium at the Enduro World Series in La Thuile, Italy. The only thing more unpredictable than the weather last weekend was the racing. It was the tightest points battle of the season. François hit it off well with a second place in stage one - the longest of the day. He fell back on stage two but his consistent riding throughout the weekend shows just how well deserved his first podium spot is. Also on the 3 stages of day 2 when the outcome of the men's race was still wide open François stayed focused. He rode so hard on the last ‘spéciale' that he had to lie down on the ground after passing the finish line - totally exhausted. He was only beaten by fellow Frenchman Damien Oton on the GC who was 3 seconds faster.

Kerstin Kögler's performance is improving from race to race. She finished 18th and showed some very good runs throughout the two days. Aaron Bradford who finished 26th - just one spot in front of his team mate Florian Golay, had a bit of bad luck when an inflatable arch blocked the course. Next stop for the Enduro World Series is Winter Park for the Colorado Freeride Festival on July 26th and 27th.
