In recruiting Julien Loy, BMC is closing the gap between Olympic distance and Ironman races. While the traditional Ironman distance covers 3.8 kilometers of swimming, 180 kilometers of cycling and 42 kilometers of running, the ITU Long Distance Series covers the same disciplines over 4, 120 and 30 kilometers. On a par with the World Championships in Hawaii, a world championship title is also awarded every year in the ITU Long Distance. However, the venues for this series change on a regular basis. This world championship title has already been won by Julien Loy in 2007 and 2008, and he is striving to repeat his success in the coming season. The multiple French champion in this subdiscipline will also contest various national and international competitions of different distances.
