Tour of Oman, Stage 3: Two In The Top 20

16. February 2012

Muscat Heights, Oman

BMC Racing Team's Adam Blythe finished 13th and Taylor Phinney was 18th – despite suffering a flat tire in the final kilometer – as Thursday's third stage of the Tour of Oman ended in a bunch sprint won by Marcel Kittel (Project 1t4i).

Hard Circuit Friday

Afterwards, BMC Racing Team Assistant Director Michael Sayers was already looking ahead to a more difficult stage Friday, one that could unseat overall leader André Greipel (Lotto-Belisol). "Tomorrow is going to be hard," Sayers said. "We have a difficult circuit that we do three times and in the middle there's a really big climb". The 144.5-kilometer race would seem to suit BMC Racing Team's Marco Pinotti, who finished fourth overall here in 2010 and sits in 33rd place, 50 seconds off the lead. "It looks like Marco is going really well and we'll see how Alessandro Ballan goes as well," Sayers said.
