Louder Top 25 in Tour of Utah Prologue

9. August 2011

Park City, Utah

Jeff Louder was fastest for the BMC Racing Team in Tuesday's prologue at the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah, 18 seconds off the winning time in the 2.1-kilometer uphill race against the clock.

More Climbing Ahead

Louder finished 21st and teammate Brent Bookwalter was 28th (21 seconds back). Sergio Henao (Gobernacion de Antioguia-Indeportes Antiquia clocked 4:05.82 to take the stage win. Louder said the twisting course in Olympic Park didn't exactly suit his strengths. "I haven't really been training for four-and-a-half minute climbs,  I've been training for hour-long climbs. Hopefully that will come into play as the week goes on." Stage 1 Wednesday is a 187 km looping road race that includes three ascents of North Ogden Pass Road. "We did that climb back in 2009 and we only did it once, but it was pretty selective," Bookwalter said. "So doing it three times – with a high-caliber field – will be different. I remember it being really open and hot."
