Giro d'Italia, Stage 10: Kristoff Ninth

17. May 2011

Teramo, Italy

Alexander Kristoff recorded his second top 10 finish for the BMC Racing Team at the Giro d'Italia with ninth place in Tuesday's bunch sprint finish.

Good Help
"Simon Zahner and Danilo Wyss did a good job of helping Kristoff get into position because the final 10 kilometers were slightly uphill," BMC Racing Team Assistant Director Fabio Baldato said. Kristoff, fourth on Stage 8, said: "I tried to follow Alessandro Petacchi (who was third), but got a bit blocked. I tried to go again but my legs had already exploded a bit." Mark Cavendish (HTC-Highroad) took the win and Alberto Contador (Saxo Bank-Sungard) kept the overall lead.
