Flèche Wallonne Will Be Different Without Evans

19. April 2011

Huy, Belgium

Without Cadel Evans on the roster to defend his title at Flèche Wallonne, the BMC Racing Team will take a different approach to the second Ardennes classic.

Van Avermaet, Kohler Riding Well

Evans is still recovering from a quadricep injury suffered in a training accident three weeks ago. "Without Cadel, we will have a more offensive strategy throughout the whole race," said BMC Racing Team Directeur Sportif John Lelangue. Mathias Frank said Evans will be missed, but Greg Van Avermaet and Martin Kohler are riding well. "The Mur der Huy at the end is impressive and gives the race its character," he said. "I really like this race but I don't think my shape is good enough to follow the strongest guys at the end, so I will try to help the other guys as well as I can."
