Moritz Milatz grabs silver at the XCM World Championships

Moritz Milatz grabs silver at the XCM World Championships, top 10 for Alex Moos.

Ornans, France. European XCO Champion Moritz Milatz (GER) from the BMC MTB Racing Team
Bad weather during the last days in France turned the race course into a wet and slippery rollercoaster ride. The 84 kilometre race in the East of France turned into a hard test for both riders and material. The race was won by Ilias (Greece) who took the lead at the beginning of the race and finished with a 2 minutes advantage on Milatz. Kristian Hynek (CZE) came in as third, before defending champion Sauser. The muddy and rainy conditions didn't jeopardise the chances of Milatz. After winning the European Championships earlier this year in similar conditions in Russia, Moritz again proved to be a bad conditions specialist. His silver medal highlights a strong championship for the BMC MTB Racing Team. Alexandre Moos finished 10th in his last major championship race, on week before his retirement as professional rider. Yves Corminboeuf finished on place 66.

On the womens side, Jane Nüssli from the Fischer-BMC MTB Team finished 7th in the race, won by Danish Annika Langvad. For Jane a well-deserved top ranking in a season marked by a series of victories in XC Marathon classics like Eiger Bike Challenge and the Grand Raid Cristalp.
