22. maart 2011

Banyoles, Spain

The BMC Racing Team turns its attention to the Queen Stage of the Volta a Catalunya following a bunch sprint finish Tuesday that kept Cadel Evans within 28 seconds of the lead.

Three Climbs Wednesday

Brent Bookwalter said it was fortunate threatening skies did not drop rain. "That finishing circuit, wet, would have been pretty dangerous," he said. "Tomorrow will be a big test because of the big climb at the end." Stage 3 will feature three climbs, including one to the finish of the 183-kilometer stage. Alessandro Petacchi (Lampre) won the sprint and Gatis Smukulis (HTC-Highroad) kept the overall lead.
