Tour of Utah, Stage 1: Another Good Day

18. August 2010

Salt Lake City, Utah

Jeff Louder held onto the Best Utah Rider jersey for the BMC Racing Team Wednesday at the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah while he and teammate George Hincapie moved up the overall classification.

Beyer's Heroics

Hincapie finished eighth on the day, while Brent Bookwalter remains the BMC Racing Team's highest-placed rider overall, in third. But Louder is now fifth and Hincapie sixth after they, Bookwalter and Chad Beyer finished in the lead pack on the 137-kilometer stage that climbed four mountains. "Chad was the real hero of the day, first getting in a break and later helping cut another break's lead in half by riding the front the whole climb." Louder said. David Tanner (Fly V Australia) out-sprinted Alex Dowsett – the only other survivor of the decisive break – to take the stage, while Dowsett moved into the overall lead.
