Tour du Poitou-Charentes, Stage 5: Wyss 10th

Poitiers, France

BMC Racing Team's Danilo Wyss and Alexander Kristoff were among a select group chasing home seven leaders Friday on an unusual final stage of Tour du Poitou-Charentes.

Shake-Up In The Standings

Battling strong winds and rain, Wyss and Kristoff were in a group of 17 that entered the challenging finish circuit three minutes behind the leaders. The gap came down in the final 40 kilometers, but not enough to stop Jimmy Casper from winning and his Saur-Sojasun teammate, Jimmy Engoulvent, from vaulting from 11th to the overall win. "Danilo (10th place) and Alexander (16th place) did a good job to make the chase group," BMC Racing Team Assistant Director Fabio Baldato said. "Martin Kohler and Florian Stalder also did well to finish, on a day when many riders stopped due to the miserable conditions."
