Tour du Poitou-Charentes, Stage 3: Kristoff Seventh

26. August 2010

Vouille, France

Alexander Kristoff registered his third straight top 10 finish for the BMC Racing Team with seventh place in a bunch sprint Thursday in the first of two stages at the Tour du Poitou-Charentes.

Received A Good Lead-Out

The BMC Racing Team lead-out train of Florian Stalder, Martin Kohler, Cole House and Danilo Wyss propelled Kristoff into the top five in the final 200 meters, but he was unable to hold his position as Jimmy Engoulvent (Saur-Sojasun) took the win. Kristoff was also best for the team (42nd place) in the 22 km evening time trial, won by Markel Irizar (Team RadioShack). Kristoff said Friday's final stage, with a finish circuit that includes a steep climb, might be one for Wyss. "Danilo felt good today and maybe if he feels strong tomorrow in the final we will try to put him in position for the sprint."
