Lichtervelde Final Tune-Up For Worlds Riders

17. september 2012

Wednesday's edition of Omloop van het Houtland-Lichtervelde serves as the final opportunity for BMC Racing Team riders to hone their form before competing in Sunday's world road race championship in The Netherlands.

Sprint Finish Expected
It will also be an opportunity for Adam Blythe to improve on his third place finish in 2010, BMC Racing Team Assistant Director Rik Verbrugghe said. "Normally, this race ends in a sprint," Verbrugghe said. "So most of the time, especially with Adam being fourth Sunday at GP d'Isbergues, hopefully he can do something good." Blythe said the 193.8 kilometer race is one he knows well. "It can be quite a hard race, but the finish is on small roads – so I hope it's another bunch sprint or a sprint from a small group," he said. BMC Racing Team riders who will be competing Wednesday and then Sunday at the worlds road race are Brent Bookwalter, Steve Cummings, Mathias Frank and Michael Schär.
