BMC Racing Team Weighs Options For Weekend Races

7. september 2011

Compiegne, France

BMC Racing Team Assistant Director Fabio Baldato said he will wait until race day before deciding which riders the team throws its support behind for Saturday's Paris-Brussels and GP de Fourmies on Sunday.

Burghardt Motivated

"The best guy with the best legs will be our leader," Baldato said. "I don't think we can focus on one or two guys as a leader if we have many guys feeling good." Alexander Kristoff finished ninth for the BMC Racing Team at Paris-Brussels a year ago. Baldato mentioned him and Marcus Burghardt as two candidates for leadership. Bughardt said he hopes a good performance will punch his ticket to a spot on the German national team for the world road championships. "I'm very motivated for the rest of the season," Burghardt said. "It has been a long year, but I'm very confident I will show up in good condition." The same eight riders will contest both races.
