The BMC Racing Team figured in two breakaways Wednesday at the Grand Prix de Wallonie and finished all eight of its riders in the race that was won by Philippe Gilbert (Omega Pharma-Lotto) with a late solo attack.

Schär, Morabito Out Front

BMC Racing Team Assistant Director Fabio Baldato credited the team with an aggressive approach that helped cover two of the race's three major moves. First, Michael Schär was part of a group that gained several minutes' lead. Then Steve Morabito figured in an escape that had 36 seconds on the peloton with 15 kilometers remaining but was caught with five to go in the 203.1 km race. "I'm really happy with what the team did today," Baldato said. "They were attentive at the start and rode well all day. I'm disappointed Steve's group didn't get more freedom. But with a rider like (Thomas) Voeckler in it, he was attacking two and three times so there was no organization."
