The BMC Racing Team successfully executed its plan to stay safe and out of trouble on a tricky final stage Sunday at the Volta a Catalunya.
Crazy Descent
Julien Simon (Saur-Sojasun) won his second stage in a bunch sprint while double-stage winner Michael Albasini (GREENEdge Cycling Team) held on to win the overall of the seven-day race. "We tried to stay near the front on the last climb to follow the attacks, but it was moving really fast," BMC Racing Team's Steve Morabito said. "The last downhill in the final five kilometers was really crazy with lots of twists and turns." Martin Kohler sprinted to 17th place for the BMC Racing Team's best finish. "Martin will come out of this race with good form for the future," BMC Racing Team Assistant Director Rik Verbrugghe said.
