Tour of Utah, Stage 5: Louder Goes For It

22. août 2010

Snowbird Ski Resort, Utah

Saying he had "nothing to lose," Jeff Louder of the BMC Racing Team joined the early breakaway on Sunday's final stage of the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah, worked hard to keep it out front, then tried valiantly to hang on up the final climb.

'Paid For My Effort Yesterday'

After spending nearly four hours in what started as a 17-man breakaway, Louder couldn't answer the attacks on the lower slopes leading up to the Snowbird Ski Resort. "I was pretty much empty," he said. "I paid for my effort yesterday and for riding a lot early on." The Salt Lake City resident, who soloed to win Stage 4, finished as the best rider on the BMC Racing Team – both on the day (21st) and overall (14th). Levi Leipheimer (Mellow Johnny's) was second on the stage to Jai Crawford (V Australia) and won the overall.
