Will there be a chance to copy Näf’s feat in Muttenz?

BMC Racing Cup - Basel / Muttenz

A pack of six BMC team riders will try to claim the final stage at the BMC Racing Cup in Muttenz on Sunday. After their convincing world cup performance in Windham, the BMC squad will again be confronted with a difficult task in the Schänzli bike arena. Last year's winner Ralph Näf knows how to succeed there, Lukas Flückiger will try to copy Näf's feat.

Just seven days after the last great competition at the World Cup in Windham, a star-studded field will toe the line again. On a completely different and flattish kind of race course the racers will compete for the crown in the BMC Racing Cup.

Very often races taking place in between two world cups are dubbed „training" races by riders. However, Lukas Flückiger confesses: „I like this race and I take it very seriously. I have always done well in the Schänzli and that's what I want to do again on Sunday."

Ralph Näf knows how it's done when he beat world champion Nino Schurter last year. You need to have a feel for the best tactic, and in the best case, you can also rely on the support of your team. In this respect BMC Racing Team will be very well positioned. Reto Indergand and Martin Fanger will return from training camps. Stephen Ettinger only missed out on worldclass results on the last two weekends due to mechanicals. As for Moritz Milatz he needs to wait and hope that his stomach issues will be over by the weekend.
