Van Avermaet Eyes Clasica Ciclista San Sebastian

28. July 2011

Donostia, Spain

Greg Van Avermaet and the BMC Racing Team hope to continue a string of success Saturday in Spain at Clasica Ciclista San Sebastian.

'On Fantastic Form'
Greg Van Avermaet, who was 11th in this 234-kilometer race a year ago, will be assisted by a strong lineup that includes Mathias Frank and Martin Kohler – who helped him win the Tour de Wallonie this week – and Amaël Moinard, who helped Cadel Evans win the Tour de France. "On paper, Greg is definitely our guy to ride for," Assistant Director Michael Sayers said. "He's on fantastic form." Van Avermaet said his only concern is the fast turnaround from five days of racing in Belgium. "Hopefully I can recover in two days. We'll see," he said. "Hopefully I'll good legs on Saturday. With the win in Wallonie, my confidence is good."
