Tour of Austria, Stage 7: Stalder Moves Up

10. July 2010

Podersdorf, Austria

BMC Racing Team's Florian Stalder moved up to 23rd overall Saturday at the Tour of Austria on the strength of his performance in the 26-kilometer individual time trial.

Flat Final Stage
"I'm not a time trial specialist. It's not my discipline," Stalder said. "But I rode hard and gave it my all. I'm satisfied with the result." Joost Posthuma (Rabobank) won the stage. Sunday's final is a flat, 122 km race into Vienna. Simon Zahner, 24th in the time trial, said he expects a bunch sprint like Stage 6 when he was 10th. "Whether it's for me or Jackson (Stewart) or Chris Barton, we'll see," Zahner said. "It also depends a bit on how well everyone has recovered from today's time trial."
