Tour de Romandie, Stage 1: Beyer Is Sprint Leader

28. April 2010

Fleurier, Switzerland

Chad Beyer made the most of his time in a long breakaway Wednesday to earn the lead in the sprint classification for the BMC Racing Team at the Tour de Romandie.

Moos Top Finisher On The Stage

The Tucson, Ariz., resident was part of a three-man breakaway that formed only 11 kilometers into the 175 km race. The trio enjoyed freedom until being swept up within 30 km of the finish. Peter Sagan (Liquigas) won a bunch sprint while the BMC Racing Team’s top finisher was Alex Moos (11th). “It was a good job by Chad to be the opportunist and get those intermediate sprints,” BMC Racing Team Assistant Director René Savary said. “Steve Morabito (best-placed overall on the team after the prologue) had a bit of a problem with his allergies today and finished in the group behind the main bunch.”
