Tour de Pologne, Stage 5: Uphill Finish

4. August 2011

Zakopane, Poland

Mauro Santambrogio (15th) and Danilo Wyss (32nd) of the BMC Racing Team finished with the leading group on Thursday's uphill finish as race leader Peter Sagan (Liquigas-Cannondale) won his second straight stage.

Not Hard Enough

Santambrogio, who is the BMC Racing Team's best-placed rider overall in 30th place (30 seconds behind), said he believed the 201.5 kilometer stage would be more decisive. "I thought it was going to be a hard race, but it turned out not to be too bad," he said. "It came down to a bunch sprint, which wasn't good for me." Friday's stage is another undulating course covering 207 km that also finishes uphill. "I hope it will be harder and them maybe I can attack," Santambrogio said.
