Tour de Beauce, Stage 5: Two In The Top 10

20. June 2010

Quebec City, Canada

Chad Beyer represented the BMC Racing Team in the break before John Murphy (sixth) and Jackson Stewart (10th) scored top 10 placings in the sprint finish Saturday at the Tour de Beauce.

Murphy Went Early

Murphy chased stage winner Marc De Maar (UnitedHealthcare) all the way to the line but faded in the slightly uphill finish. "There were lot of attacks in the last kilometer and it split up," Murphy said. "I had no choice but to go super early. The headwind got the best of me." Beyer bridged a gap to make a five-man move that led by two minutes halfway through the 127 kilometer circuit race. " I thought there might be a chance for the break to stick today," Beyer said.
