Stewart Runner-Up On Final Stage Of Beauce

20. June 2010

Saint-Georges, Canada

A runner-up finish on the final stage of the Tour de Beauce Sunday earned Jackson Stewart one of his best results since joining the BMC Racing Team in its inaugural season of 2007.

Another Wet Stage
Stewart was part of a nine-man breakaway that got away in the rain on the first lap of 11 around a 12-kilometer circuit. Hector Gonzalez Baeza (Heraklio-Murcia) soloed to win the race as Stewart out-sprinted five others to take second. Benjamin Day (Fly V Australia) won the overall. "Jackson's been riding well and he rode well all week," BMC Racing Team Assistant Director Michael Sayers said. "If we could take the first day out, when (Alexander) Kristoff crashed out, it wasn't too bad of a race for us."
