"Steve's legs are good and he's in good shape for the moment, so that was a good sign for the final races of the season," BMC Racing Team Assistant Director Rik Verbrugghe said. Phinney thanked his teammates for a good leadout at the end of the 175.4 km race that was won by Robbie McEwen (Team RadioShack), who also took the overall title of the four-day race. "Mathias (Frank) pulled me up to the front with five kilometers to go after the last time up the climb and Michael (Schär) kept me safe until one kilometer to go," Phinney said. "Michi did the work of an entire train."
