BMC called and everyone came

The BMC Racing Team made use of the day off and invited everyone to join them for a press conference.

“I am impressed and touched by the interest shown in our team”, said Andy Rihs, BMC Team owner and patron, as he greeted the international journalists who had accepted BMC’s invitation.  The room was filled to capacity. Everyone had come to see the World Champion Cadel Evans, US National Road Champion George Hincapie, Tour de France stage winner Karsten Kroon and the “young guns” Danilo Wyss, Thomas Frei, Martin Kohler and Mauro Santambrogio. Given this line up, the interest from all journalists was particularly great.

The press conference had initially been scheduled for 30 minutes but ran into overtime and ended up lasting over an hour. BMC CEO Mike Hürlimann made use of the opportunity to introduce the Swiss bicycle manufacturer to a captive audience on the other side of the world. The press conference had been yet another successful public appearance by the BMC Racing Team. With this much tailwind, everyone is ready for a successful start to the Tour Down Under on Tuesday.
